Support to skills
These cross-functional activities are integrating and associating each studied function in its vehicle context and are the result of the maturity of ECM’s expertise in designing automobile.
• Morpho dimensional optimization under constraints of style and adjacent parts.
• Take into account conditions relevant to the functioning quality of an entire vehicle.
ARCHITECTURE
Studies and synthesis by zone of all the functions of vehicles and product/process skills.
• Zoning, space allocation, numerical simulation.
• Value analysis, ergonomics, hierarchy of risks and costs.
GEOMETRY
Design and series production of a vehicle compliant with dimensional objectives (drawing of assembly plays and fits) in order to comply with the operating mode, appearance conditions, assembly procedure and the repeatability.
• Functional analysis of implementation.
• Technical analysis, isostatism.
• Tolerancing.
• Manufacturability.
• Geometrical and functional characteristics in a ring analysis, capability.
In the logic of the engineering of a vehicle, the geometry of the body and the finished vehicle require a broad cooperation not only with all the design departments but also with the suppliers of parts and means, as well as the factories and the engineering.
QUALITY
Audit and quality analysis on any component of the vehicle or on the complete prototype vehicle
• Audit of parts used as references and first article inspection at the suppliers’ facility.
• Failure mode analysis by checking the product/process compliance.
• Conduct project quality assessment tasks specific to carmakers.
